74th Avenue is a fashion brand founded by fashion stylist Dayenne Bekker. Dayenne is born in the Carribean, based in Amsterdam and has a special love for crew neck sweaters, jewelry and accessories.
Inspired by one of her trips to New York City and Los Angeles, Dayenne got the idea of starting her very own fashion brand to explore her own creativity and empower others by feeling confident in items designed by her. As the Covid-19 pandemic pushed the pause button on her work as a stylist, she finally found the time to start working on her own brand; 74th Avenue.
As Dayenne states: ‘Everyone can look good in a sweater if you style it right. Add the right jewelry and accessories and you are good to go! All 74th Avenue-items are for everyone of all sizes and gender.’
Exchanging the pause-button Covid-19 pushed, for a fast-forward button: It has now been a few years since Dayenne has founded 74th Avenue and Dayenne is not only creating and selling handmade sweaters, but all kinds of unique clothing and jewelry of her own brand.
Why handmade:
All items, with exception of rings and bag charms, are designed and handmade by Dayenne. Special shiny and high-quality materials are used to design fashion items by hand, vintage items are upcycled or combined to find another way of creating unique and stylish items. Doing this by hand gives products a special feel and extra love; ‘exactly what every fashion item deserves’, if you ask Dayenne. ‘Because of this, every item is unique and not two pieces are exactly the same. Even if you order the same design.’
